Project Overview:

Carey was awarded the contract to design and construct a secure vehicle compound at Karratha TAFE. The compound was required to provide a safe parking facility for 20 fleet vehicles and a bus. Carey managed the full scope of works, providing both design and site management throughout the project.

Scope of Works:

  • Design: Complete design of the facility in compliance with stakeholder requirements, City of Karratha local by-laws, Building Code of Australia regulations, and applicable Australian Standards.
  • Materials Supply: Supply of road base and fill materials, including sub-base and base course.
  • Site Preparation: Earthworks, including compaction and drainage.
  • Pavement Construction: Concrete pavement construction, including dowelled and keyed construction joints throughout.
  • Electrical: Installation of a new electrical distribution board for connection of the facility to the existing site supply.
  • Security: Installation of CCTV, security lighting, security access systems, security fencing, and automatic security gates complete with swipe card access.

Throughout the project, Carey supported the Karratha business community by engaging local subcontractors. Carey’s integrated project management systems and hands-on involvement at all stages of the project ensured the works were delivered in a timely and professional manner, meeting the client’s specifications and expectations.
